The new army chief -- my take. While I believe in destiny, I also believe in changing it through forces beyond this realm of existence. Allah is always the best of the planners.

For now, we will comment on the media reports about the new appointments.

Nawaz Shareef decided under fear but Allah will bring khair from it inshAllah. Every officer at the top had his own skill set and capabilities and in these times of war, each had their own role to play. Their mutual relationships also mattered and so does their temperaments and attitudes.

There were 4 officers in the run for the COAS, in order of seniority.

1. General haroon Aslam, a Commando and a leader and a fighter who had seen and led wars.
2. General Rashad, a gentleman staff officer known for administrative skills.
3. General Raheel, a gentleman clean, patriotic officer known for intellectual, academic prowess and carries the legacy of his Shaheed Nishan e Haider brother Shabbir Shareef.
4. General Tariq, a true breed of fighting tiger known for war experience, courage and leadership. Comes from a family of proud traditional and brave Royalty, a man of high pedigree and intellectual caliber.

General Tariq is the only Pashtun in the group. Rest are from Punjab.

Now when the deck has been shuffled, following picture has emerged.

1. Rashad has moved as CJCSC, an academic, coordination and planning post. He is well suited there. Raheel could have also easily adjusted there by virtue of his academic and administrative experiences.
2. Raheel as become the COAS, at a time when the nation and country is in a state of bloody war. A tough duty for a very fine gentleman, where a bloody mess awaits him.
3. Tariq has officially become the senior most General after COAS and would unofficially be like vice chief of army staff.
4. Haroon has resigned.

Nawaz Shareef wanted to keep the two war experienced Generals out of equation completely. General Haroon and General Tariq both were the fighting types and very naively, he saw them as a threat. Typical sign of hollow and shallow leadership. So he totally ignored Haroon, who resigned after being superseded. Tariq was 4th in seniority anyways and thus was not superseded and he stays in the army – a blessing for Pakistan truly.

Now what is extremely encouraging in this combination is that army would be run by Raheel and he would be advised by his best friend General Tariq. Both are great friends, patriots, have good chemistry with each other and Raheel, gentleman as he is, respects and accepts Tariq’s fighting skills and courage with open heart. Both Raheel and Tariq would make a deadly duo inshAllah ! Where calm and academics is required, Raheel can prevail. Where aggression, courage and bulldozing the enemy is needed, Tariq would lead the march. Raheel cannot deliver without Tariq’s help in these deadly times. Afghanistan and FATA are regions of Tariq. He knows the people, language, tribes, terrain and its complex geo-politics. His family has lived in those mountains as Chieftains for 4 centuries. Tariq will be Raheel’s most trusted advisor, comrade and even mentor where Raheel finds the going rough.

If Nawaz wanted to keep Tariq out, he has failed miserably. Pakistan army is a solid institution, led and commanded by patriots, despite the utmost desire of the hollow politicians to turn it into a glorified police force or a bickering political party.

Pakistan now faces the most dangerous and existential threats since its creation. Politicians have proved that they are incapable of taking serious leadership roles. That is why they remain terrified of army all the time. It must be remembered that army never takes over by choice until the collapse becomes so critical that it threatens the state itself. The best insurance against Martial law is corruption free, good governing, solid political leadership which can give nation a new vision of hope. Why Quaid e Azamn never feared a coup despite such economic collapse in the country at the time of creation ? He commanded respect of the armed forces, that’s why. Nawaz is hated in the country, let alone respected by the army.

If Nawaz continues to follow the path of self inflicted destruction, which he is doing nowadays, then even the most gentlemanly officer of the army would also reprimand him. For now, NS has tried to play smart. He has planned but he forgets that Allah is the best of the planners. When Allah wants to humiliate a corrupt and incompetent ruler, He has many ways other than martial law. NS will find out very soon. Very soon.

But for the Pak army, we are happy. This is a good combination under the circumstances and inshAllah, now we can expect some aggressive and positive changes in the army and in the war against enemies.

We patriots offer full and unconditional support to the army leadership, especially to Raheel and Tariq. This team is a fighting, lethal combination, inshAllah !

خواتین کی تنظیم دخترانِ ملّت کی سربراہ آسیہ اندرابی نے بی بی سی کو بتایا: ’کئی ماہ پہلے مجھے بتایا گیا کہ سعودی گیزیٹ اخبار کے ایک صحافی میرا انٹرویو لینا چاہتے ہیں۔ لیکن جب ملاقات ہوئی تو انہوں نے کہا کہ وہ القاعدہ سے تعلق رکھتے ہیں اور پاکستان میں سرگرم تحریک طالبان کی سرپرستی بھی کرتے ہیں۔‘

آسیہ اندرابی کا کہنا ہے کہ انہوں نے اس پیشکش کے جواب میں کہا کہ کشمیری پاکستان کو کمزور کرنے کی سازش کا حصہ نہیں بنیں گے۔

’میں نے ان سے کہا جس غزوہ کی آپ بات کرتے ہو وہ خراساں سے شروع ہوگا، پاکستان سے نہیں۔ کوئی کشمیری اسی مکروہ سازش کا حصہ نہیں بنے گا۔‘

آسیہ اندرابی کا کہنا ہے کہ تحریک طالبان پاکستان میں ایسے معصوم نوجوان بھی ہیں جو نفاذ شریعت میں مخلص ہیں اور جہاد کرنا چاہتے ہیں۔ وہ کہتی ہیں: ’لیکن تحریک طالبان کے حوالے سے بھارت اور اسرائیل نے کافی کچھ کیا ہے اور یہ سب پاکستان کے استحکام کو بگاڑنے کی ایک سازش ہے۔‘

کشمیر پولیس کے سربراہ عبدالغنی میر نے رابطہ کرنے پر بتایا: ’ہمیں ایسی کوئی اطلاع نہیں ہے، لیکن اگر آسیہ اندرابی صاحبہ کو ایسی معلومات ہیں تو یہ ان کا فرض ہے کہ وہ پولیس کا تعاون کریں۔‘

many youngsters are insisting that they want to join our mission and BrassTacks. Let us clarify for them.

There are 3 levels of our work that we do at BrassTacks.

1. First is fighting the information war on social media, FB, twitter and blogs. This is the most important aspect of the duty that we have. In this battle, every patriotic Pakistani can join us when you share, spread and propagate the message and the mission and reply to the hostile posts. Thousands of our members on FB and Twitter do this duty and make the most formidable social media warriors. You can also join our volunteer mailing group which is on our website www.brasstacks.pk and be more close to us and join the discussions as well with thousands of members in group. You may be anywhere in the world but you can contribute this way. You can make Jpegs, videos, presentations etc about the mission and share with the team for mass circulation. You can join the twitter team to create trends and re-tweet messages. All this is volunteer work, done by passionate volunteers. everyone is welcome here.

2. Second part of the work is in our office where we write policy papers, do security and historical research, translate our works into Urdu or English, transcribe and compose our lectures into books, proof read, edit and print books and magazines etc. This is a specialized work and we already have a small team for this duty.

3. Third level is media appearances, TV programs, joining discussions, lectures, seminars and interviews. This we manage at our own in house levels and do not need a huge volunteer team for this aspect of mission as well.

follow this FB page, read our policy papers and watch videos and TV programs that we have done in the past. Those who have joined us now do not know that we have done nearly 1000 programs and fantastic series on Islamic history, Pakistan movement, Pak army, Quaid, Iqbal and geo-politics. You must educate yourself before you can do the duty. Arm yourself with knowledge first.

Learn to write, read and speak well in Urdu and English at least. You must have a strong pen and a powerful language. You can start your own websites, FB pages and blogs and spread the message. Be a leader and be a guide for others. Do what we are doing but remain humble and learn before you apply.

There are nearly 200K members on this page but look at the number of shares on a post !! Few hundred at most ! why ?? At least you can share the knowledge and be part of this mission.

We DO NOT need fans. Pakistan need die hard fighters ! If you think you have this courage to face what we face everyday, then join us It is NOT easy to stand next to us Very few actually do under such heat and intense opposition.

There is no sign that Nawaz government is getting the grips on any of the crisis at hand. If he brings a weak Commander, even then the government and the State would be threatened. If he brings a tough hard task master General, the State would be secured but then a weak and afraid Prime Minister may also feel threatened needlessly. His fears are sinking the ship of his government, taking the State with it to the bottom. This is such an irony at such a critical time of Pakistan’s history. Today, the greatest fitnah which the Crusaders, Mushriks and Khawarij want to create between Ummah is on the basis of Shia-Sunni divide. Both Saudi Arabia and Iran are at each other’s throat, dividing the Ummah completely from Afghanistan to Lebanon on sectarian lines with bloody clashes, battles and bloodshed. Only the enemies are benefitting from this fasaad.

Today, on the day Karbala, when we all remember the great sacrifices of Sayyadna Hussian, it is also critically important to remember how these sacred Ahl e Bait valued the importance of love and unity within the Ummah. All four Khulfa e Rashideen loved each other like brothers, and were all related to Sayyadi Rasul Allah (sm). Two were father in laws and two were son in laws of Rasul Allah (sm).

They named their children on each other to prove that they had deepest love with each other. Today, when you remember Karbala, also remember the names of children of Hazrat Ali (RA) and Hazrat Hasan (RA). Because if you remember that, all sectarian wars within Muslim lands would come to an end. The only reason shias and sunnis fight with each other is that they have forgotten the love, adab, respect and ikraam which the Khulfa e Rashideen and their children had within each other.

While Saudis are clearly on the wrong path in Middle East and have done their share in destroying the ummah, Iranian Shia scholars must also correct their bearings seriously. When Hazrat Ali and hazrat Hasan can name their children in love of Hazrat Usman and Hazrat Abu Bakr, then why don’t shias do that today ? This would greatly remove the hostile propaganda that Shias are disrespectful towards Khulfa e Rashideen and would destroy the attempts of the Khawarij to divide the Ummah on sectarian lines.

Let’s remember the Shaheeds of Karbala from Ahl e Beyt. Their names were also : Usman and Abubakr !

Here, it is confirmed that Haqqanis never said anything like that and never supported the TTP leader. Also, the statement of Afghan Taliban is quoted where they have condoled the death of Haqqani but have NOT blamed Pakistan. Rasul Allah (sm) has given the Bisharat of Jannah to two armies:

1. An army which fights Hindu Mushriks in Ghazwa e Hind.
2. An army which fights the Khawarij.

Rasul Allah (sm) has clearly given the Bisharat that Allah will forgive the sins of this army (there will be sins but will be forgiven as they defend Pakistan and Ummah).

In these times, anyone attacking army would either be a total nutcase idiot or a traitor standing with Khawarij or Mushriks or Hanood/Yahood. Pak army is the defender of the Ummah despite the sins we have committed.
